Sissi, The Young Empress is a series loosely based on the life of Princess Elizabeth. Called Sissi by everyone, she is a 15-year-old girl, who finds life in her palace a bit boring and has adventures every day. It is a captivating animation that holds the interest of 6 to 10 year-olds showing them the development of relationships and resolutions to problems in each chapter.
Sissy does not look like a traditional princess. She does not agree with the court rules and restrictions that every member of the royal family has to stick to. But Sissi has a heart of gold; she values sincerity and honesty in relationships and she loves animals. With the help of a magic bracelet, she is able to communicate with and understand her animal friends: Nut, a beautiful squirrel, Shadow, a playful dog, and Flick, a loyal horse.
Throughout the seasons of the animation, Sissi has some embarrassing moments, as well as some happy and funny ones. She meets her love Franz, whose mother Sophie the queen does everything she can to prevent them from marrying. The self-centered queen manages her reign only in favor of herself and does not believe in true love. But, Sissy and Franz are faithful to each other and are strong spirited.
Sissi and Franz face some awkward moments as they get to know each other , and then they have to go through some more serious challenges to be together. Will they stay as a couple despite Sissy's will? It is a captivating story, well worth watching.
